Act #7 of 2004,
Issued by Traffic Police Directorate of Baghdad Governorate Due to the requirements of the public interest and pursuant to
the Item 1, Chapter 34, Law of Traffic Police #86, 2004, we have decided
the following:
-
Owners, or their
authorized persons, of recently imported unregistered vehicles whose
production date is before 1990 and whose entry was before Dec. 31,
2003, are requested to drop by the directorates of traffic police in
Baghdad and the other governorates within 30 days starting from the
date of issuance.
-
Violators will
be penalized in accordance with the items of Chapter 31 and the
vehicle will be confiscated for 10 days in accordance with Item 26
FT, Annex 1 of the law given above.

This act will be
valid upon publishing and broadcasting.

Act #6 of 2004,
Pursuant to the Item 1, Chapter 34, Law of Traffic Police #86, 2004, and
due to the requirements of the public interests and the accidents caused
by right-handed cars, we have issued the following act:
-
The movement of
the right-handed cars is prohibited.
-
Violators will
be penalized in accordance with the items of Chapter 31 and the
vehicle will be confiscated for 10 days in accordance with Item 26
T, Chapter 19, annex 1 of the law given above.

This act will be
valid upon publishing and broadcasting.

Act #5 of 2004,
Issued by Traffic Police Directorate of Baghdad Governorate Pursuant to the authority given under the Item #2, Chapter 34,
Law of Traffic Police #86, 2004, we have decided the following:
-
In order to have
accurate and sound statistics, the Traffic Police Directorate
invites BMW, whatever its color was, owners or their authorized
persons to drop by the directorate on the dates referred to in the
attached timetable. To achieve the purpose mentioned above, people
dropping by will be provided with applications confirming the visit
and they will be used by traffic police men.

Governmental
cars of the same type will be excluded.
-
Violators will
be penalized in conformity with the Item 26 T, Annex 1, Chapter 19,
Law of Traffic Police #86, 2004.

This act will be
valid upon publishing on mass media.

Act #4 of 2004,
Due to the
requirements of the public interest and the accidents caused by
motorcycles and pursuant to the authority given through the items of the
Chapter 34, Law of Traffic Police #86, 2004, we have decided the
following:
First: the use of small motorcycles whose engine power is less than 125
CC is prohibited in streets, squares and junctions.
Second: violators will be penalized in conformity with the items of
Article 26 FT, Annex 1, Law of Traffic Police #86, 2004.
Third: this act will be valid upon publishing on mass media.

Act #3 of 2004,
Due to the requirements of the public interest and pursuant to the
authority given to us under the items of the articles 33 and 37, Traffic
Police Law #48, 1971 as amended, the directorate has issued the
following act:
First: the following is prohibited:
-
the movement of
vehicles without registration tags
-
The directorate
will give a temporary respite of 10 days, starting from April 12 to
23, for the owner or the authorized to drop by the locations of
installing the tags in Baghdad.
Second: in case of
not reviewing or installing tags during the period specified in item 2
of this act, the vehicle not bearing registration tag will be seized and
violators will be referred to the concerned authorities in conformity
with the items of the Article 26 F 3, Law of Traffic Police.
Third: this act will be implemented upon the end of the period
specified above, publishing and broadcasting.

Act #2 of 2004,
Due to the requirements of the public interest and pursuant to the
authority given to us under the items of the articles 33 and 37, Traffic
Police Law #48, 1971 as amended, the directorate has issued the
following act:
-
The
access of large vehicles to big cities is prohibited starting from 7
A.M. to 4 P.M. save Fridays and the days of official occasions. This
procedure comes due to the traffic jams caused by those vehicles
when entering.
-
This
act will be implemented upon its broadcasting and publishing.
-
The
violator will be penalized according to the items of the Article
26/3, Traffic Police Law #48, 1971 as amended.
