Traffic Advices

Advices and directions for vehicles drivers
* Give the way to the following vehicles( ambulance –extinguisher-police) for facilitate their duties by using the right side of the road or stop if the situation demand that, and through doing this you will contribute in saving people lives.
* You have not used the big sound devices or multi notes that caused noisy for other road users especially inside inhabitant areas or near hospitals and schools.      * Stop your vehicle in particular parks, because the miss parking leads to confuse the traffic movement .Also you have not allowed to stop on sidewalk or across area that specified to walkers or on a bridges or in the middle of the road.           * For emergency or necessity stopping especially in the night driving, you must open the stop signals and warning lights. It should be noted here the important of using phosphorous triangle behind your breaking down vehicle and try drag it away of the road as soon as possible.
Advices for walkers

Dear driver
*You have to be away of any psychological passivity and keep concentrate, focus toward road only and do not occupy yourself by taking, reading, and thinking or using your cell phone or eating.
* You have to stop driving while you feel tired, nervous or illness.
* Do not drive while you have drug materials or alcoholic.
* Keep driving on the right side of the road and look in mirrors consequently to be aware of rear traffic movement and do not throw any thing outside your vehicle during driving.
* Use the proper light signals that indicate the direction of turning vehicle before suitable distance in order to inform other drivers.
* You must notice before set up back movement or head starting or turning to other side.
* You must not use the highlight or spotlight that cause unclear vision for other road users and lead to dangerous events.
* Keep convenient distance between you and the vehicle in front of you and avoid sudden stop.
* Do not drive in excessive speed, because it represents the main factor for all accidents and you have to follow the determined legal speed according to traffic law. , Therefore, with your avoiding such accidents you will keep yourself apart of sorrowful accidents which lead to human being, and material looses.
Basic Rules of Safety Passing
* The passing must be from the left side except condition of the preceding vehicle that intends to turn from the left side.
* Do not pass the preceding vehicle while it trays to pass other cars in front of it, therefore, you have to wait while this operation end and then you can set up passing safely.
* Passing is possible when the road was almost straight and there isn't any turning curved roads that prevent plain vision.
* You must use signal of passing preceding vehicle at daytimes and using the light signals that indicate direction movement at night.
* Do not passing near traffic lights or near cross-areas.
Driving in Bad Air Conditions
(Rains, fug)
* Do not drive more than 15Km-houre in raining or fuggy days.
* Do not pass vehicles under above conditions.
* Avoid using sudden break while the road was wetted.
* Use your front and rear lights without using highlights plus carefully attention to general road status.
Advices for Riders of Vehicle and Public Bus.
* Do not approach bus or ride or step down while it being moving.
* Do not stand inside the bus, because standing will exposed you to fall and pain.
* Do not bring parts of your body outside bus window, you might be dropped or hit by other vehicles and do not throw any things that affect others outside the bus.
* Do not stand or lean on a bus door handle during bus movement.
* Give help to handicapped, children, and old people inside bus.
* Do not get down from the front door and do not cross in front of the bus in the way that hinders the bus driver vision.
* For the bus drivers, you have to stop in safety places away of turning roads, intersections; and traffic light. You are not allowed to drop the rider in these places especially in highways or randomly stopping.
Wills for Motorcyclist
Dear Driver
* You must wear protective helmet and tide it properly before set up driving; you are also have to wear the convenient uniform that helps you in easy, and safety driving.
* Be ware of overmuch speed and be away of traffic jam.
* Keep driving on the right side of the road and avoid competitive driving to pass other vehicles.
* Be ware of sudden stop, and don’t use hand break at once.
* Be ware of what facing you in the road.
* Provide your motorcycle front screen that protects you from air and dusts.
* Do not touch any close vehicle to you, because this action will head to dangers.
* Do not practice any air sports aerobatics actions that are more dangerous. You have to put in your consideration that motorcycles are mainly found for transporting not amusement purposes in the public roads.

The Tasks of Media and Relations Department

The basic tasks of media and relation dep. are to intensify the traffic education for public in addition to enhance the ties between citizens and traffic of police directory throughout the suggestions that contribute to develop the traffic work. Also this  dep .ready to listen to people complains and suggestions in order to study them and put appropriate solutions to them, and also enhance the ties between this directory and other supported directories such as Baghdad municipality, general corporation for roads and bridges and general corporation for transporting and others directories concerned with traffic work and also coordination  with organization of civilian community. It also provides the internet department with all traffic education programs  and traffic directions to be published in website to whole world.
 

Media and Relation Department Activities


The traffic of police directorate are keen about deepen , publishing and strengthening traffic education through mass media which have a great influence on people satisfaction and responding to the concepts of traffic education, in the way that affects positively toward road users conduct. Below the activities of this dep.
 

  1. Direct contact with public:

    These meetings consider one of important mass media that make people who responsible of traffic education are face to face with receptive public. This means has a great influence on education and direction aspect in which we can get adequate reactions throughout interviews and conversations for forming public opinion stand with traffic men to implement traffic law against the violators.
     

  2. Traffic Education through reading mass media:

    This include newspapers ,magazines and other pamphlets. The affect of this means less than other mass media because the readers of newspapers and magazines are few in numbers and the information that exist in them need to more explanations for to the some traffic rules and regulations but it contributes to solve the problems that counter road users and treats or reduce them. The media help us to publish the necessary statistics accidents that result of ignorance traffic rules. In our turn we published folders of traffic: law, directions and advices for road users to distribute by traffic men for all drivers in street
     

  3. Traffic education through audio media

    It should be noted here to the role played by radio broadcasting programs which has influence echo toward audience ,we can enrich traffic education to public if we used this mean a properly by producing broadcasting programs that of traffic cultivating and give the drivers quick information about roads situation.
     

  4. Traffic Education through TV  Programs

    The TV media is characterized by merits better than other media for it supported by move picture and sound, that because humankind are influenced by these devices. TV is a means of communication directed to a large number of people and not for specific sample of people. So we can bring a lot of people to our traffic education through this media, also we can enlarge our traffic programs for everywhere. Many people are interested with what TV media has presented to them, so they can easily motivate and promote our traffic education programs in the way we can insure the successful of our means and goals.
